Hyophorbe indica - Champagne Palm at San Diego Zoo

Champagne palm is a very beautiful palm and has very fragrant, sweet scented flowers. This palm is endagered of being extinct in its native Reunion Island, Mascarene Islands (East of Africa & Madagascar Island). Photo taken Jan. 25, 2010.

I can see it potted for life. Its not a large palm even in ground. Plus in a pot..you can see the reddish petioles on 'indica". Unless what I have is H.lagenicaulis. That too has reddish petioles when a young palm.
My seeds came from Miami so H.indica red form isnt all that much of a stretch. Whats super rare here might be a Home Depot special there.
