February rose

Wonderful colour...looks nice with the raindrops. :o)

I would've have preferred it, if the flippin' camera had focused on the rose and not the leaves - tried taking another but it came out even more blurred - I even tried with macro - still no better - mmmm p'raps a crash course needed here ....!!

The leaves do look good... not diseased.

Thanks Yorkshire and Lori. This rose bush in my countryside retreat is coincidentally similar in colour (lipstick pink - I love it!!!) to a little potted rose I have on my balcony in Rome -

Don't you love the little potted mini roses that are everywhere for sale these days? I bought a number of pots last spring and put them right into my garden...they did beautifully...til the rabbits found them!

Ooooh don't mention rabbits Lori, my friend in Cheshire was plagued by the wild things who used to create havoc in her garden - she tried all sorts, to no avail. She's finally thrown in the towel, admitted defeat and now feeds them every morning with leftovers !!! Will send you a photo of said beasties ....

rabbits are lovely little creatures... your friend shows great wisdom...obviously the natural equilibrium of Cheshire is a bit challenged at the moment,...because I thought that you had lots of foxes around to help keep them in check. We often see nature as cruel.."red in tooth and claw" but nature is a functioning thing...like a true perpetual motion machine that we choose to ignore most of the time... and it is hard to leave it be...I feed my rabbits too, but there are hawks, cars and coyotes to keep them from getting too numerous.
