My Chimonanthus ( winter Sweet ) is in flower to ...I use to get these two muddled up ,

I haven't got that - don't they need acid soil - and I read somewhere that they take an age (years!) to settle down and flower....

Yes Barbara , we do have acid soil ! I put a photo of mine on here a couple of days ago .... mine is 16 years old at least , we moved here 15 years ago and brought it with us ... It only had the flowers on 4/5 years ago .......

Just had a look at the BBC gardening page, Spritz and it will grow in well-drained/light, Acidic, Chalky/alkaline.
