ah ...a tree with a family tree! one of my plant prop profs used to say: (with a lear) "She had a lovely Asssspedistra in the parlour! "

These asssspedistras are everywhere Lori - probably because they have very low maintenance needs....

The offspring from that other plant (what is it?) is proving to be very hardy too - except for Giorgio and June during the summer months, who insist on climbing onto the window sill to nibble the ends ....

I'm not a palm expert, T60...but I'd say it was a Kentia...not sure..should ask Delonix1...he'd know for sure. I had both a cat and a Kentia at one time...and he liked to chew it's leaf-tips too...that and the spider plant leaf ends.(chloropytum) cat's know good plants when they taste them!

They sure do Lori - but why oh why can't they nibble at their catgrass, that I have lovingly grown for them, and just leave my poor plants alone??

hmmm.... I'm lost for an answer...my best guess would be cat contrariness...like human adolescents they have to discover it for themselves. so don't give up on the catgrass...leave plenty of it around your plants...they'll get the picture eventually.
