I know what you mean, my other varieties are fairly short lived, which I divide regularly - this one seems to carry on though, I always cut it to the ground as soon as it starts to look scrappy - maybe that helps.

I can't seem to grow Sidalceas - I've had several, but they peg out after a couple of years. :-((
