Mt Mckinley: South side

wow.....

This is the big mountain, I take a shot from here and its a little lump on the southwest horizon. lol. This is the view from around Talkeenta. That is about 600ft elev. and the mountain top is 20,000ft. Distance is just 70 miles from here.

so u only have to pop over the mountains to get to the warmth....

The distance mountain to Talkeetna is 70 miles, Talkeetna is 240 miles from where I live. It's still deep winter there too, but spring will come in April.

I love to share. We are such a varied and enormous state, equaling half the continental US or three Texas's. I still haven't seen it all.

Thanks. We call it the great one for a reason. Most of the state is below 1500 ft and this peak is around 21,000ft.
