Is this maybe Primula deltoides? I do so like Primulas, my favourite though is P. viallii which I am now growing on having raised 17 sedlings. This is a splendid clump of 'Dumplings'

At first glance I thought it was a hydrangea, then noticed the tulips and that restored the scale.
Gorgeous colour and I love the name. Do Kirrie Dumplings have anything to do with Kirriemuir ?

My father spent some time growing up in Kirriemuir back in the '20s when my grandparents ran the Airlie Arms. While on holiday one year my father took us to see where he had grown up and showed us the hotel's hayloft which he had fallen out of ..... as children we loved hearing the stories of the antics he and his brother got up to :-)
