At the end of the garden, under the huge privet, 3ft gap between cabin and summerhouse The honeysuckle halliana refuses to die! It was concreted over for the summerhouse base! It's evergreen and scented so I'm bodging it an arch. It'll soon cover it.

It seems to prefer shade, poor soil, being ignored. Needs some light or sun to flower well but not much! It grows quite fast and tends to cover other plants. It seems to grow where it chooses - not usually where I would like it to! I've asked it to go up the privet - no. Put some in an enormous pot behind the shed and offered a better arch - going but not well. Tried to send it along the chain-link -no. (I think that was too sunny). Comes out of ivy, slabs, concrete??? Could be very useful in the right place!

Have you grown any cuttings in pots from this honeysuckle ?

No, I havn,t but it roots easily - I don't think it would be a problem.

I find your photos of climbers very interesting.
How do you get on with this evergreen honeysuckle ?
Any problems / advantages ?
Better in shade or sun ?
