Cluster of bricks from our family church

The church that my family has belonged to for years was torn down last week. Along with the church, a convent and school was also torn down. I went to school there from the first to the eight grade, I went down to rescue a cluster of bricks. The brass plate on the bricks reads, Bricks from St. Joseph's Church Springfield, MA. I'm very happy to have this as a keepsake.

I am so glad to hear that you have a meaningful momento, Mike.
About nine years ago there was a major fire at our church, it happened not long after my husband's funeral there. It has always been a special place for me, we were married and our children christened there, it is my spiritual home. When it was refurbished I asked if I could have the pew we had used as a family. It is in my garage waiting for my retirement, when I envisage being able to give it the time it deserves to be transformed into a garden seat. Not too long to go now :-)

It's just wonderful that you have a pew Xela, especially the one that your family used. There was no auction or anything like that at our church. They did srtip the church of everything before taking it down. I would of loved to have had something from the inside but I'm very happy to have the bricks. Best of luck on transforming the pew into a garden bench.
