What a stunning colour, I recognize the circle, we have one in our front garden.....Love Crocus, could spend a fortune with them......

Thank you, yes I love crocus too Dd, and do spend far too much, we had to put the circle out there because the tree in the street, a huge cherry, which is now causing subsidence in our house, kept throwing up loads of new shoots and making so much work ! This was the easy option out.

Oh dear what are you going to do about your house, can you get the tree removed?

Hi there Dd, have been away with my grandson so have not been near the computer for three days, our insurance company have been very good and are in negotiations with the council (that will take for ever I fear) we reported this last October and they reckon it will take a year to monitor. My main worry is my lovely plants I might have to move the Iris this year for safety, but as you can see they are happy being baked in the sun, my back garden faces North. What a pain eh! It just goes to show that when planting trees you have to be so careful as they have a habit of growing !!!!

Dont tell me that, have so many trees in our garden now...I dread to think what will happen in 20 years time, will I be bothered? will be too old to care lol
21 Apr, 2010
Hey Dd, I am sure your trees are not too near your house are they? Our front garden is only small so therefor it is too near the street tree ! In our back garden we have lots of trees and like you, will I be bovered in a few years to come, nooooooooooo !! So enjoy, be happy.

Your front garden looks about the same size as ours, and no we have no trees there, only in the back, and the side of the house (I feel a blog coming on, well not quite ready yet, another 2 weeks with a bit of luck, so watch this space!!)

Dd, get blogging its great therapy I find !!!!!

Was out again today still a lot more to do, as it is hard landscaping (removing old and putting in new) it is very time and energy consuming, where is the lucozade?

Yes there are and quite expensive, BUT !!!! oh so tempting.
I do not think my lovely Iris is flowering this year, damn snails there are hundreds :o(
2 May, 2010
Have you tried the nematodes Gm?
2 May, 2010
Borna, No I havnt, where can I purchase some??
2 May, 2010
As far as I know all garden centres sell them (make sure you get the ones for snails and slugs) and you can buy them on line too, try googling them. Maybe there is still time for your irises to show, even if new shoots have been eaten, they may send up more mightn't they? I'm not very well up on iris:-)

I am a little sad this year as my beautiful Sultans Palace have no flowers on. I do hope I havn't lost them !
6 May, 2010
Really beautiful flowers. Perhaps they're just a bit late flowering - a lot of my plants are weeks behind their usual flowering times. That must be the Sultans Mercedes in the background then ?... lol

Yeah, lol, the Sultans Mercedes certainly not ours !!!!

I love this iris. It's going to my faves. A tricky colour for my garden, but that line right down the centre....wow!

I think Iris'sesss ! are accepted in any colour, my thought is that the garden is natures palette and anything goes !! They do not last long either :0(
