I found this in my kitchen tonight. I have looked at the Harlequin Ladybird Survey website and sent them photo's to verify. But it sure looks like one to me....how about you?

I think the two white dots behind the head are significant..... I just googled harlequin survey..very interesting stuff...and they have a chart which you can print off that shows the extreme variation in harlequin markings...but they did give one little rule of thumb and that is size...if the insect is small ...1/5th of an inch...it is NOT a harlequin.

This one was 8mm, and the markings were the same as one on the chart Lori. They seem to have arrived here...

They've been with us over here for quite a while now, Pottygardener. They swarm as the cold weather approaches....and show up en masse inside the walls and windows of houses. We've been told to vacuum them up and dispose of them!!

Gosh Lori, that sounds like something from a movie!!

Hahahha.... I have seen pictures of them massing...makes a person feel a little squeemish! Now if they were as good as they should be at the task for which they were brought here...I'd be less prone to worry about their guerilla attack on the established lady birds. As it is...I feel like a Dalek ....exterminate!!!
