It takes the frogs a while to get used to it I think Sandra. When I saw a frog in the garden a few years ago I had to 'chivvy him up' and guide him to the pond!..lol - he stayed there then:-)

Sanbaz has told me you've made a small 'pond' and I am interested to know if this is what she'd be referring to, Richard? I think she mentioned it was made from a pot so not sure this would be the right photo.
Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks muchly.

Yes these are the two 'ponds' that I made Whistonlass. Sandra (Sanbaz) inspired me as she was making a pond and I thought it would be nice if I had one except I only have a small garden. I had a spare washing up bowl and mop bucket:- here is the link that you want, it is called 'my little ponds' in my Blogs :-

Thanks, Richard, for the link to your blog. I've read through it and hope I can find it again when the time comes for me to undertake something like that. I did wonder about the algae problem but it seems you don't have a problem with that.
My garden is not developed yet but I will want to have a water feature or small pond about the size of yours too.
I'd love to be able to duplicate Sandra's pond but alas, no space for anything that large...it looks so natural and serene on her photos.

Glad you liked my idea Whistonlass. You can get a liquid to add to your pond to keep the water clear but can't think of its name I bought some before but have used it now though and thrown the bottle away. I must get some more. The frogs like it in there but its a bit too small for fish and you would need some sort of pump and water flow/aerator for them. I'll find the blog for you again if you want to see it when you are ready to make your pond. Sandra's pond is very nice but couldn't fit anything like that in my garden more's the pity :-))
