It works very well doesn't it.......the bamboos are very striking too.....

The main damage to our plants this winters has been the cordylines and flax in the jungle area. Because all the leaves began to rot, we have chopped some very high cordylines down to a bare trunk of about 5 feet in height - hoping that they may re-sprout.

The flax were reduced to half their volume last year with the weather, and with this year's severe winter they have been taken back completely. We will have to wait and see if they recover.

The palm trees and bamboos are unscathed. In fact, both last winter and this winter, we split up the bamboos and planted them in frozen ground and they have all started growing again.

What a shame about your cordys and flax ... obviously the bamboo are great survivors.
