It does resemble grass leaves...however, they have sharp serrated leaves and most species grow much larger than any species of Cordyline. They are also very tender...being native to tropical south sea islands. I'll post a pic of the fruit...which is eaten in many of these islands especially in Polynesia. It prefers to grow by the ocean and has many large aerial/stilt roots.
