Im using it as my shed at the mo, as i dont have one, the rounded area was full of allsorts, mainly wood i think this must have been where she cut her logs, and threw rubbish.???

Yes when you take over a home and garden a lot of hard work when they have put their rubbish etc there. Hope you succeed with you idea, I would keep the air raid shelter even if it was nt being used, you don't see many of these any more except in museums

Maybe when i get my shed Emily could use it as a play house, it's not the most attractive of objects though..... hmmm.
Every room in the house needed cleaning and redecorating, all the carpets HAD to go. I am so glad i am now out in the garden getting my hands dirty, i am really enjoying our garden, much bigger garden for Emily and her best friend Harvey (our dog.)

If you are ever thinking of getting rid of it, you should ask your local museum first if they are interested in it. Here where I live the museum have got one inside with all the memorabellia of the war. You could use it for growing things on that need protecting from frost, if you did nt want your little girl to play in it. Or you could spray paint it for her a wire brush or sand blasting might get that rust off.

Your welcome Clairey and good luck with your home, I know what its like to have to clean up homes and gardens of others, even human feaces, I have moved about 30 times. lol.

ewwww, mine doesn't seem that bad now lol, but i did have to get a special chemical they use at dog kennels to scrub all the floor boards in the house with. It will be worth every effort.

I think its great that old air raid shelter, good idea for a raised veg patch. I once watched on a gardening program an experiment on a raised bed 1 metre by 1 metre sqare, she grew her whole years veg in it, by planting, harvesting, then replanting.
