Hi it's a female grass snake about a metre long, she slithered out of my old shed a few years ago. I like snakes so I had no qualms about handling her. She hissed a bit and gave off that awful smell which is supposed to make you drop it, but I took her round to a neighbour to show her off. Pretty hey?
Her head is about the size of my thumb!
we also have 4inch multi coloured dragonflies that dance on the lake, I rescued one from a spiderweb in the gallery one day, and was rewarded with an enchanting clean up job by the creature ( after I had used a fine paintbrush to get the ball rolling!)He stayed on my hand for around 20 minutes to finish up before he headed off back to the lake. Thing is he had a bit of a bend in his tail, and I'm sure he came back the next day, as I was going to the car I felt this touch on my hand looked around and he was flying just above my head!!
Magic!
