Encyclia cordigera x alata orchid hybrid

This orchid has the most incredibly, sweetly perfume-fragrant flowers I've ever smelled! I couldn't resist buying it...even though it was $20.00. The flower spike stands almost 4 feet/ 1.2 meter tall.

Yes, you would be surprised. Here there's so many thousands of hybrids which are for sale...it even amazes me! Most orchids here are very cheap also. This one was on the pricey side...however, I've never smelled an orchid this fragrant in my life...and I'm from Honolulu, Hawaii...where orchids grow like weeds.

Wow! That hits all the right spots for me. There does seem to be an incredible range of 'pick me up & buy me' orchids in the US. Something like this tends to be mail order in the UK (which I hate).
