Beautiful but where is it growing! It's not a marginal is it?!

Arisaemas enjoy damp conditions when in growth but to be dry during the winter. This is in a planting basket in the pond with only the bottom inch of two in the water. In autumn, I move the basket into a cold greenhouse

Perhaps that's where I'm going wrong. I've tried this one several times and it's never reappeared for me. Gets to be an expensive exercise, however I might try your method if I can get it again.

It's the combination of cold and wet in winter that kills a lot of things that are otherwise hardy. In their native environment, plants either have dry winters or are under a protective layer of snow.
I have seen rhodohypxos growing in the wild on the top of a mountain pass and something as simple as a sheet of glass, laid on a couple of bricks, to keep the wet off gets them through our winter. Mine have just started to shoot again this year
