This is lovely! I purchased one of these last year from B&Q and it has flourished well in it's large pot. I shall plant it in the ground soon, I did notice the height information on the label stated something like 65cm eventual height however I did my research to find out that it is semi dwarf reaching around 5-6ft both ways. Did you notice this error on the labeling too?
Either way a perfect choice. I know this is an old thread but wondered how yours was doing now and how big it has gotten? ;)

Hi Raglany this has been in the border for the last few years, I have a few more pics of it on here it's done really well it's about 4.5 feet high, I think my label did say 4-5 ft and it has done this, I wanted mine to grow fairly tall to screen fence a bit, I have another pic on page 7 of my photos and I took one yesterday, I will add it now :-))

That sounds great, they are lovely Shrubs. I always loved the Syringa and their scent as my Gran had a large common lilac but my garden would never manage one of that size so I was delighted to learn about these smaller ones. Mine had put out lots of new growth this season and is looking great. I shall have a look at your other picture now :)

Hi again, that's exactly why I bought mine as the scent reminds me of my grandad's garden, he had white ones :-))

It's intoxicating isn't it! I just taken my brown garden waste bin out just a few minutes ago and the smell is wafting about the top of the garden. My Gran's was a darkish purple but I've always had a liking for the white ones too.
There is a large old house that is owned by historic Scotland, it's a short walk from my house and there are a few of the white ones there. Absolutely stunning when in full bloom.
It's always nice to buy something that reminds you of someone. Especially when it's in the garden and you get to enjoy seeing it grow :)

The lilacs don't flower for long but are worth it, Josee should repeat flower but I don't think mine did last year, we will see :-)

I think I pinched the sparse amount of flowers from mine last year and I had very few reblooms after. I love the texture of the leaves on Josee. I've uploaded some close up pictures of my blooms this year. Triple the amount to last year thankfully :)
