That's unfortunate Milky. Mine was in a pot, so I just stopped watering it & moved it indoors. At the end of March I lifted it & one tuber had become two. So I've put them both in a 12" pot - one stands about 5 foot or so, the other is about a foot behind. If you look carefully at the pic you'll see that the growing tip has also forked into two.
