Lovely cat very like my Guy.

Lovely animal - don't know how old she/he is, but she's doing what my black cat did as she matured - showing that brownish tinge in her black fur.

Phoebe is 11 now. She was a "rescue cat" and had a litter of three kittens when I took her on aged 1. Actually then she was very thin and the brown tinge was very obvious. Over the years it got better. Last year she had a thyroidectomy after becoming hyperthyroid. She got over that pretty well and is quite well at present. :))

My Guy (age 10) has an overactive thyroid too. I give him medication every day. So far does not need surgery, but he had a blood test last week and his blood test has risen by 2 points so fingers crossed. He gets more of a 'sable' tinge each year and now has some gray too.

I hope he stays well :)) Phoebe needs to have her jabs next week. Theres always something!

Alas, Phoebe was "put to sleep this morning". She had deteriorated a lot over the last few months and had really stopped eating and drinking. RIP

I am so sorry to hear this. You must be feeling very sad.

Ooh, sorry to hear that - its so difficult when you lose pets, but to be honest, I'm quite envious they have the option of being put down when we don't...

Yes thanks for your kind comments. She had become really poorly recently and wouldnt eat or drink.
She was quite a character - very intelligent, and an excellent pingpong player! I agree, Bamboo - having seen my mother suffer for years, I think she would have liked to request a painless ending like Phoebe.
