Is that the tree (didn't know what it was) it is one someone passed on to me, I have to prune it quite hard to keep it in shape every back end.

Does it have berries?

7 May, 2010

yes it does have berries, but they do not go red and the flower is nothing much to look at when it flowers, not like the usual cotoneaster bushes.
btw had forgotten (temporarily) about the cows chasing you in your high heels. Paul had a good giggle the other night about Sam in her high heels, he took her to her friends house to meet up for drinks etc. she went up the path and to the gate in her heels (4" ones) and opened the gate and promptly fell over her heels, Paul said it was a bit like Aveline in Bread she couldn't stand up he couldn't drive for laughing, tears rolling down his cheeks, he was still laughing when he got home, she remarked that she couldn't walk in them when she was sober, but managed alright when she had had a few too many. I have my doubts about that. Dignity - none of us has that eh!!

Mine are very insignificant looking flowers and my berries are yellow. I love them though because they are semi evergreen and because the birds don't eat the berries, so you have them to enjoy all through the winter. I like it's graceful habit too...I need mine to grow so they hide the neighbours!

Actually, I need everything to grow so as to hide the neighbours. Can you believe that in one of the smallest houses behind me they have now got 3...that's 3....labrador puppies, which they leave outside all day in a kennel while they are out working. The poor things are hollering and wailing all day long and making it impossible to have any p and q in the garden. My friend Janet and I are thinking of calling the RSPCA! Grrrrrr!!!

You should record the noise they make and go over and speak to them, let them hear the noise they make, see if it does any good if not go to the council and complain, they will make them keep them quiet (if that is possible) I know how it drives you mad the noise, Paul has a spaniel and when he was about 18 months old (his kennel is at back door nearly) he saw him go to work and howled and carried on all day long, I sprayed water I shouted at him I tried everything I could think of, it got so bad I made Paul take him to work, he said he sat in the van and watched him all day through the open doors, never moved. He did it for about 3 weeks and we tried him again in his kennel, he has been fine ever since, cannot believe it worked, he hated the sitting still in the van more than he missed his master at home. He (the dog) only creates now if he sees Pauls van come home and he nearly dances his legs off (bless him) he is a lovely dog really. Scruff and him are great friends, the only trouble is he is manic and has legs that run and run and never ever get tired, Scruffy too old to run about now, unless it is to chase an aeroplane daring to fly over the garden and disturb his peace and quiet.
