Rose

Rose

I planted 4 different coloured roses, yellow, white, pink and red, by the graveyard, and lo and behold, 2 of them died! I don't know why because they all looked very healthy when I bought them. Maybe 2 of them didn't like the new neighbour. Hahaha~~

Thats a nice idea Tm....do you go there regulary, or have you just planted them
to make the grave site pretty? Are they rememberance Roses? so many questions, i do go on...LOL

Our property is adjacent to the grave + church and we were asked by the local committee to make the site tidy (the church is normally closed and open only for special occasions such as funerals, weddings and etc). The site was a bit of a mess with ivies and other climbers going up the fence. Therefore, first we cleared the place and then in March planted 4 roses and 1 clematis to make the site look pretty and pleasant. Roses are just another ordinary climbing ones we randomly picked up. Oh dear, we have to plant other things~~~~~

Sometimes roses don't like growing where a rose has grown previously... so I suggest where the roses died you plant something different... just a thought..:o)

I hope that helps. Will be interested to know what you choose instead... maybe something evergreen ?

It's a sunny spot, having the sun all day long. We thought about hydrangea or rhododendron but maybe too sunny for both of them. What do you think? Maybe rhododendron might be okay (and it's evergreen). Any opinion and recommendation would be highly appreciated!!!! I'd like to have something which doesn't need much care :)
