My mum used to call these Dusty Millers but I cannot think what it is off hand.

Thats it thank you. I have been out all day so had no time to hunt up the name. I have to admit I was not always so careful of the labels pre GOY. Now I try to catalogue them all in a file in My Pictues and then on to a disc. This auricula has a very washed out look to it. It is the first one I have managed to keep over the winter in this garden. I was looking for something yesterday and came on it along a south facing border on the north side of the garden. It has a lovely perfume.

You did me a favour SG as I had forgotten I planted 2 last autumn, I found them just about flowering.

It is so nice to be surprised in that way. These seem to grow well near the coast. Everybody in Morayshire seemed to have them as do many gardeners in East Lothian. Must be the sandy soil in the east of Scotland.
