Yes, it does. We have lots of newts, frogs, dragonflies, lots of sparrows and blackbirds...and the occasional Grey Heron. Luckily for us, or rather for the fish, we put a fence around the pond, as a protection for our small grandchildren, and this prevents him to take off or land...

A good idea, with the fence, you can never be too careful, where children are concerned, especially, when they are your Grandchildren.
I have a net over my pond ....as i lost most of my fish to the Heron, the net stays on now, Summer & Winter...i do not have many newts, or dragon-
flies, you are so lucky!!!

Yes, it is. They are so quick, aren't they!
Such a pity. Over here it was the same, with the Grey Heron, before we had the fence. We still see him, but he tries the ponds at the neighbours. ;-)
