Canary Bird will be growing lots of lovely feathers for you. Lol.

If she did, the bluetits could have them for their nest! They are still fleeing around the place, but no sound from the nest so far so still sitting on the eggs I guess!

Well, only Ooh La La is actually new Daisy. The other three I already have elsewhere in the garden but love them so much I decided to have repeats!

Karen what compost do you use for your Clem pots and do you do anything else to help them along? I've got two that I want to pot up :-))

The two Clems are 'Corona' & 'Royalty' both labels say they are suitable for pots but would like your opinion :-)))

Hi Ann, I don't have either of these lovelies....so no personal experience to go on. they both seem to grow to about 10' tall, so I would hesitate about putting them in a pot, unless it is against a wall or something that could support them as they get tall. I just use moisture retaining (hanging basket) compost, and I add miracle grow slow release fertilizer to the compost. At the moment I have pinks and lavendar in the pots with the clematis, but I think they would be fine on their own and probably better because they have such big root systems...we'll see how they get on! hope yours grow beautifully for you.

I will support them on the wall. I always seem to lose them when I plant them out but I do have two small ones from last year that seem to be going ok near the garage. Maybe the viticellas would do better in my garden :-))

I would definitely give them a go Ann. I have very few group 2s. Like you, they often just disappear. Sometimes they reappear but they hardly ever seem to really 'thrive' for me! viticellas are so much easier, and there are some group 3s that have large flowers too and they seem to do much better as well.

Will they cope with growing into mature shrubs or do the need to be planted at the same time?

Oh, they'll cope fine growing into mature shrubs, as long as the roots are planted a bit away from the dry shade created by the shrub....:)
