Bryony I have no idea of the Latin names for plants so sorry cannot tell you for definite that it is, although it does look like Pictures I have seen of that particular Peony...................I have two of the same type one grows in part shade and the other is in full sunlight, and they do equally as well..they have been flowering steadily for well over 15 years now.......
How long have you had yours because I think we waited a good while before ours flowered...... I don't give them any special care either ...........
Both are big plants and when they die back.................Maybe I can get my son to dig up some of the Roots after the autumn before the frosty weather, split them and I would be more than willing to send you some { I do this with my Lily roots too for anyone who wants them.}
And they travel quite well :o)

Goldie that is such a sweet offer but it seems too nice to risk harming it.

Bryony LOl ... Iv'e been called many things and Sweet aint one of them ;o)
I have two such plant's and I am digging one up this year and splitting the Corms/bulbs. My friend who lives locally wants one, and I am sending one to someone else............. I'm not an experienced gardener but am told September is the best time to dig up, My son had already been commandeered to do this................ Pity he didn't have the time to dig all the rest of it...............but he finishes work so late and it is hard physical work he does...............weekends are spent running his own small business.....so until he can find the time I will have to make do................;o)
So the offer still stands when sept comes and if you still want some let me know...........:o)

Beautiful! Is this 'Felix Crousse'? My peony has not even flowered this year, I think I will have moved before it does!
