Robin with a beak full

Robin with a beak full

Heres one of the Robins that took residence in a garden waste bag with their youngster which has now left the nest. (Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of the baby)

How do you know that she had a youngster in your waste bag? Did you see
the Robin in the bag, with her youngster by accident?.., or was you watching
her coming & going, and knew she was nesting in the bag?
How unusual! What a funny place, to nest in...Bless her...

Hi Freesiaperson
My husband was the first to spot the robins coming and going to the corner of our house. I decided to investigate the bag I had hidden behind some trellis to find a rather messy nest.
I left the birds alone after that and a couple of weeks later, whilst I was at the other end of the garden, I heard movement in the bag and out jump a baby robin!
I didn't get a picture of junior because as soon as mum got back she lead her baby off into the neighbours garden, I guess she thought I might have been a threat (I wish I could have let her know somehow that I was far from it). Anyway I've left the nest in the bag just case they decide to come back (fingers crossed!).

I do not think she will come back, especially if her youngster has left the nest
did she only have the 1?, I would myself, leave the nest there just in case..
Its a good thing that you left the nest, after you discovered it, as most birds
leave the nest, or even kill their young, if they sense any interference to their
nesting quarters...its best to leave it to Nature... we do wish we could do more
to help them, but they just do not understand that...shame really!!
The only help we can give them is to feed them, and make sure they have
clean water daily...

I am certain there was only one baby, I still have a robin visit the garden for food off my bird feeder if it's the same one I hope she'll bring her baby to feed with her soon.
