This winter has reaffirmed my appreciation of the warming capacity of rocks in this cool Canadian climate...especially arranged on a south slope...it seem that the perennials like to cuddle up to them!

Our quarry's mining some dark stone at the moment, so I've decided to revamp the middle terrace of our garden....will exchange some rocks and hopefully create a warmer environment!

Thanks M! It sure doesn't look this good at present. The tradescantia got swamped by the Ligs...and it almost disappeared. I found it again and will be digging it up for a pot.
