Frequent Afternoon Showers

We've been so hot, 75-80F each day and often the afternoons are spotted with thundershowers. Almost perfect, but our lack of snow left us too dry to keep away wildfires. Here's a rainbow over the hill on the way home.

lovely! Your climate is so weird! Not enough snow to stop fires.....one extreme to the other in such a short space of time!

Thanks. :-) The other end of this is my house, but no gold....lol. Our snowfall sets the permafrost and watertable for the year. All the spring growth depends on that snowfall, without it we are just growing kindling. We already have 85 wildfires ablaze and a haze of smoke. Very early. I do love the extremes though, summer and winter are both like dreams when you are experiencing the other.

Yes J! I know what you mean! even in Scotland it feels like that! I cannot imagine the winter we've just had now...it does seem like a dream! It must be so much more intense for you!

We get amazing seasons. I've come to treasure unusual things, like cool rain at night or a walk in the snow in the sunshine. These are very rare here.
