Well they do! My mum always had these but I've never thought of growing them ... like sweet williams too!

I love to remember childhood on a sunny day in the garden!

I especially remember snowball tree, crab apple & lilac. Living in a cottage garden there was always these love in a mist & phlox too.

Yep! Used to make them 'roar' by pressing the blossoms! Still do when no-one's looking!!

We've had these self seeding for years. Complete no show this year though! It's a shame, because as you point out, they're great for filling in early gaps.

What a perfect blue...I don't have enough blue in my garden.

I have known that happen Meanie then the next year they start to reappear. I like blue in a garden beside white or yellow
