Nigella Love-in-a-mist (Nigella damascena)

This is great for filling in the gaps till other plants are bigger and helps keeps the cats off.

Well they do! My mum always had these but I've never thought of growing them ... like sweet williams too!

I love to remember childhood on a sunny day in the garden!

I especially remember snowball tree, crab apple & lilac. Living in a cottage garden there was always these love in a mist & phlox too.

Snapdragons too

Yep! Used to make them 'roar' by pressing the blossoms! Still do when no-one's looking!!

We've had these self seeding for years. Complete no show this year though! It's a shame, because as you point out, they're great for filling in early gaps.
