My mother loved her petunias... and in those days the only way to have ever blooming petunias was to deadhead... it was a daily ritual...either before breakfast or at dusk...every day!

Is sulfinia the Italian or Spanish name for surfinias? Amazing what has been done to the lovely petunia.... so many different types now...even ones which they say don't need deadheading. I had some in a planter last summer...they were smaller than the petunia but bloomed incessantly all summer long. My absolute fav is the standard single dark purple petunia...it has a lovely scent and the colour is a great contrast .... hmmmm...think I'll take a run to the store!
