LOVELY PHOTO. IS THE SHRUB CEANOTHUS?
20 Jun, 2010
Thanks Linsuffolk. Yes, the shrub is Ceanothus. It started to take over so I had to get very hard on it and it ended up looking like a mushroom by the time I had finished trying to get it even. Another month or two and I shall have to get out the Black and Decker again. It is a bit like the chain saw massacre when I get going. No, I'm not as cruel as that really and it doesn't seem to mind.

Ceanothus is a funny old shrub Felinfan.....either wants to rule the border....then sulks when you try to hold it back. I must be mad for still trying to grow one. The blue is so lovely to the eye. I first saw it at a Cambridge college against a sunny wall. I forgot I didn't have a posh wall space like that for it to lean on. It ended up trying to take over the garden path on the way to the shed......not such a pretty shed as yours.....welcome to GoY
