The aguilegia is coming in nicely and ready to bloom. I filled all the spots this year, and my summer savory from last year reseeded very well and is now nice seedlings thick in the back two spot. I've added calendula and pansy now too.

good idea - I never would have thought of that.

Thank you. This setup has been working well, just hadn't always filled every slot each year. I thought it was time to revive the herbs. The blocks make perfect warm containers.

What a ingenious use for the blocks GT. Like that a lot!

TY. They make great planters. Keeps thing neat but let the roots get down into the ground. Also, the brick heats up so its ideal for these warm loving herbs.

Thank you and go ahead Jennyh. It really worked well for me for years. I have recently changed it to strawberries as I was starting to have a battle with ants nesting in the root of the thyme. My ants seem to like the loose warm soil as well as the thyme roots. Just a warning, if you have ants around your garden.
I would imagine they thought it was a great fortress, with cement walls and everything. ;-)

Hi Greenthumb unfortunately I do get ants so I will be aware.
