Thanks, answered my question! It's lovely...it does have evergreen foliage. I used to have one, but too vigorous for my fence. It's a lovely healthy rose too. Tell me, can you detect any scent? Descriptions usually say strong perfume but I couldn't smell mine.....?

No not yet, maybe there will be when there are more buds open, it is really strong, grown massively since I put it in at the back end of last year, I needed something to replace my passion flower, tried twice and it just wouldn't live in my garden so thought I would try a rambler. Wasn't sure about the colour when it said blue but thought I would give it a go. Pleased I did.

Good choice for replacing passion flower. It does the same job really and almost as vigorous!

'veilchenblau' lit. 'violet blue' so yes, but then most blue flowers turn out to be purple don't they!
