Quito Coconut palm is growing very well at South Coat Palms nursery's garden.(this is 1 of 2 beautiful specimens in the garden) This palm usually does poorly in southern California's warm climate.

It is a beautiful looking palm! You would love this nursery also. Their prices are so very reasonable...right now everything is 60% off...which is an extreme bargain.(because the business is being sold or dissolved) I purchased a large 5gal Pritchardia hillerbrandii - Hawaiian Loulou palm for only $9.00. One this size usually costs around $150.00 (even here) I'll be posting it soon. : > )

Palmate:
Yes, I almost felt like I was getting it for free. Many Pritchardia species when young grow pretty slowly (especially in a pot) until they develop a trunk...then they speed up.
