The hole prepared and thick newspaper laid under the liner. Normally we would use old carpet, as a good cushion for the liner....but this time we used thick newspapers, as the pond isn't very big....Just 3ft x 2ft x 1ft deep....then filled....So far this has cost nothing, as we had left over liner, stone, and plants....to hand....
