These are the Spanish iris that are available as cut flowers. Grow in a sunny spot in well-drained soil. They look a mess after flowering so growing them between other plants hides the decaying foliage

This is growing in a border that is limited to white, yellow and blue flowers plus a few mauve alliums. Just now there are forget-me-nots, blue perennial cornflowers and camassias, yellow flowers on a flowering currant and a herbaceous potentilla, white anthericum and some alliums
