Thanks all :-))) Karen this has all been trial and error, so many things have failed over 9 years + some shrubs have been too rampant. Whats growing here are mainly the survivors,with a few new additions planted after a ground cover rose was removed last year. The only thing I've been picky about is the colour.

Yes, I was just thinking that my garden still needs a few more years to really get sorted. You know, waiting for shrubs to get taller that are being swamped by perennials just now....for the heights to sort themselves...and of course for the fence to get hidden! It all takes time....and trial and error! :))
