I've decided to put a wrought iron gate here, I'm going for a court yard feel (delusions of grandeur, my husband says). Managed to get a beauty from e-bay for £40!

Believe it or not, this time last year, this area was a dumping ground for my husbands tools and building materials. It was home to a cement mixer, bags of sand, bricks and other general detritus. But I reclaimed it in early spring, put up the bamboo panels and turned it into a really lovely area to sit. It's south facing and is sunny most of the day. x

Ha! Funny, my side garden... the japanese corner is also south facing. We have to make the most of our southerly spots Mandy!
