I'm loving watching this plant grow - this is an update at another month older.
I've learnt a couple of lessons though:
1. Leaf miners love them (they must like the hallucinogenic effects)
2. A lot of the advice I have read is don't feed them (well, I have 2 of these plants - one completey unfeed at all, it's a third of the size of this one which has had a couple of feeds.
We shall see what affect feeding has on flowering.

Thanks Meanie - I shall take a look :)
It's interesting you say about feeding the plant ... as I said in my comment above, I've fed one and not fed the other - the unfed one is a healthy but considerably smaller plant. The one above is in about a 15-16 inch pot (the biggest we had knocking about at the time.
I can't remember what seed company I read the advice on, but they said - cut down to the base before over-wintering indoors and re-pot the in Spring and keep water well but never feed it. I have more seeds for next year - so I'm going to try a controlled experiment.
I have to say though, Mrs V is not to enamored by the plant (probably as it isn't flowering yet) ... yesterday she described it as; and I quote "an ugly bloody thing!".

I'll be interested in your findings, although for the time being I'll keep feeding (if they get bigger by not feeding I'll run out of space!).
To be fair to your beloved, it doesn't have the most attractive foliage!

The best advice that I can offer is to put them into the biggest pot that you have available and to feed regularly. I'll post up a photo of mine later.
