Hispaniola Silver Thatch Palm is a beautiful silver palm which need lot of heat to grow well. It resembles Trachycarpus fortunei from a distance however, has smaller silvery fronds...and is tropical. There's a smaller one in the background and to the right are Carnary Island Pines. Photo taken in Balboa Park on July 13, 2010.

Palmate:
Thanks! I wanted a closer photo of the fronds, however, the late afternoon sun was causes some shadowing issues. : > )

Mushybanna:
I'll be going back soon to walk my dog again.
There's an an incredible palm garden in this section of Balboa Park...which I think is fairy new...with the exception of the old palms.
