this eupatorium is huge...about five ft. tall...and the smell is heavenly. A few years ago some idiot decided that purple loosestrife was a scourge and it was going to take over our wet lands and we would lose all our lovely native weeds because of it!!! the fool who did that finally had to admit that he was WRONG, but only after it had people/farmers/gardeners wondering if they should panic or what? Now someone in need of a gov't grant (methinks) is doing the same for the giant hogweed. granted it''s sap produces sores and welts if it gets thro the skin...but it's so huge who could miss it? the reports I saw of it makes me wonder if it's not kin to the triffyd! such silly henny penny stuff makes me angry. So I planted this loosestrife from seeds from a plant growing in the wild... take that!.... Ministry of Agriculture!
