my liatris are about the same as yours, really pleased to see them all appear again this year after that winter we had

Do you know, I have had them for about 5 years, and every time the slugs get them. But this time I put pellets down, under the leaves of nearby plants, and it has worked.

had no slug problems with mine, had to put pellets down around the cucumber and courgette plants, they were having a field day with them,
