I've found this varety to be a strong, reliable one so why is it so hard to find?

I want this one too, will look for it.
They have to be a strongly mildew resistant variety for here though because all others fail to thrive.

Interestingly, although we are crying our for rain here, none of my monardas have got mildew so far

That's interesting ..... my Prarie Night suffered so badly i removed each and every clump :-((((
I've got 3 different ones now, all chosen for their resistance to it - here's hoping that's right !

When we (that is, the Garden Club) did a Show Garden a few years ago, we had some monarda for it but they mostly had mildew on them. The guy in charge of the Council Nursery gave us a tip - polish the leaves with leaf shine and the RHS judges won't notice. He was right!
