Monsoonal Clouds Are Here Again!

Monsoonal Clouds Are Here Again!

For 4 days we've been getting a strong monsoonal flow from the southeast. We haven't had any much-needed rain though...just some heat and humidity which is feeling like back to normal temps for now. Photo taken August 2, 2010.

Lori:

The last 2 days we've been well below normal...as far as temps. It's so crazy! This time of the year...generally most people can't stop complaining about the heat and humidity.

Well I hope they are taking advantage of the change... they say a change is as good as a rest, right? When it hot up here, it's usually humid. I've never experienced the "dry" heat of the desert. Wonder if I'd like it any better than this humid heat?...probably not~!

Lori:

It's been consistently above 110 degrees F. / 43 degrees C. in the deserts...it can be much hotter though. I don't go to the desert in Summer. I can't stand that heat! It's too easy to get heat stroke there.

The last time I went to Palms Springs in summer for the 4th of July holiday (7 years ago)...the coolest day was 114 degrees F/ 46 degrees C. and the hottest day was 117 degrees F / 48 degrees C. during my 3 day stay there. Early November is the best time to go to the desert when high temps are only in the low 90's F. / 33 degrees C.
