so much colour looks like a painting

thanks wish I could paint I would have a field day in the garden, not one of my talents come to think of it I don't have many talents only gardening

my neighbour is good at painting and yesterday I took pictures of my Hydrangea and she said she is going to do a painting of it,

Oh that is so good of your neighbour, we do not have neighbours, well our closest neighbour is through the wood on the other side of it - it would be nice to have neighbours to gossip over the garden fence with. lol and share news and views with.

Probably too much red and orange for you Karen sue!

Well, for my garden yes; but I love red flowers sooooooo much! Crocosmia Lucifer is heart stopping! Any really red reds are fantastic. It's just so hard to use in a garden full of clems, roses and geraniums!! I love this scene though. I don't do much herbaceous because I need all year round colour and they leave so much bare earth in the winter, but I love to see other people's.

Pleased you like it - it will be even better next year this is where the heleniums have gone in, just about 1/4 way down you cannot see them here but next year they should reach there full potential. Actually they will be just in front of that purple/pink monarda, might have to move that may be even too much of a colour clash even for me. lol

It looks good next to the orange crocosmia though!

Somehow it all works, don't understand it really, some of these plants have been in this border for years, and each time I have extended it they seem to just suit each other, I will look forward to seeing the yellow helleniums in flower next year along with the others of course there are reds and oranges also in the gap that was somehow left, cannot think what was in there that hasn't grown this year. Think maybe it was a shoot of that inula that I dug out and put somewhere else, that is the only thing I can remember was there that shouldn 't have been. Oh maybe a Dahlia that didn't come back after the harsh winter we had (that will teach me)!

ps: We got some lovely lovely rain on Thursday/Friday it has done the garden some good, but when I dug down it hasn't gone into the ground very far, so more is still needed. (never happy!!)

Our drop of Rain did just about enough to give everything except the lawns a lift, but as you say, it hasn't gone into the ground, just surface scratching really....
