You have worked hard. How high do you want it short medium or tall? is it quite close to the window as a tall evergreen would take some light?

i had to hire a skip to get rid of all the slate and weeds..... i would say 1 metre would be fine, its about 2 metres away from house, it is approx 1 metre deep and wide.

I think a drought tolerant shrub might be a good idea as this may well be quite dry? So perhaps Barberry 'Rosy Glow' 3-5ft or Lavenders? If you go to Goypeadia and click on evergreen shrubs there are lots of pics there for you to look at to give you ideas.
