Yes Spritz. Its a mixture of petunias,gazanias,geraniums,californian poppy,salvia,marigolds,lobelia,impatiens, about 35-40 pots in all. Placed on breeze blocks and an old table.

You've got those different levels that really make a big difference to the overall 'look' - it's great...many congratulations! :-))))

Fantastic display. I'm sure the bowlers must enjoy going to the club just to see the flowers. A great idea to have them at different levels.

Thanks for all your comments, I do this "main display" every year at the green. The hardest thing is keeping it watered regularly, and the deadheading, along with the rest of the gardens. This year I intend to lay an irrigation hose along the length of the garden, and set up a proper spray hose for the display. Then I can sit back, have a beer between matches and watering.

I use gel water retaining granules nowadays. They are very expensive in the GCs but I find Lidl and Aldi do them at a fraction of the price. I use them inall pots with bedding plants in them because you can scorch plants applying water overhead in the sun. The water globules magnify the heat and ruin your plants. Best time to water is early in am as possible because that allows the water tobe off the plants and into the soil. Evening watering can give fungus a nice moist atmosphere in which to grow.
